ADDENDUM:
Please read the first blog entry over on MASSCANN's myspace page and help to make sure this Boston event happens as planned. If you cannot spare a donation, then please come on out to the BBQ at O'Brien's on the 17th, and all of your door money to see VSM will be added to the Rally fund. Support this important event, and important cause. See you on the 17th! Save The Boston Freedom Rally!
So the benefit for MASSCANN/NORML has been rescheduled as an afternoon Bake-B-Que on August 19th. This is going to be quite an afternoon of bizarre Voodoo shenanigans, and I promise that for those who have seen us before, you have never really seen us quite like this...
If you do not know about MASSCANN, they are the folks that put on the yearly rally on Boston Common championing the reform of marijuana laws across the country.
It is indeed rare that I ask anything of you, aside from coming out and having a good time, but I would really appreciate it if you would be so kind as to jump over here and show your support for VSM & for MASSCANN by requesting a performance by VSM at the September rally. The area in which to cast your vote is located in the "Who do you want to play the Freedom Rally?" blog entry.
I have this 5' joint I've been dying to find a use for...

Thanks for your continued support, and I look forward to making a dress out of your skin.

First Congregational Church, 89 College Avenue, Somerville, Ma
(MAP)
- The Post-Meridian Radio Players are putting on their annual Halloween 'Staged-Radio Thrillogy' October 29, 30 and 31 in the Boston area. Tomes of Terror II will feature live performances of:
"Halloween Party" — From the classic comedy series Our Miss Brooks, which originally aired on CBS Radio and starred Eve Arden and Gale Gordon. In this re-creation of a 1949 Al Lewis episode, Constance Brooks, English teacher at Madison High School, agrees to host her students' Halloween party in order to dunk for apples with Mr. Boynton, the science teacher for whom she holds a candle. But she hasn't figured on Principal Conklin's blood pressure!
"Carmilla" — An adaptation of J. Sheridan LeFanu's 1872 novella, written for CBC Radio's terrifying horror series Nightfall by Graham Pomeroy and John Douglas in 1982. In this story, inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula, a young woman dreams of a friend her own age. But in the dark depths of the Black Forest, nothing is quite what it seems and she gets more than she ever wanted. A chilling tale of childish fantasy and lost innocence.
"The Stone Ship" — Another adaptation from Nightfall, this one written by Len Peterson in 1981 and based on William Hope Hodgson's eerie 1914 sea-bound thriller. In 1887, the crew of the merchant windjammer Alfred Jessop, adrift for days and shrouded in an unnatural mist, stumble across the wreck of an impossible ship. Venturing aboard the derelict challenges the sanity of a stalwart British sea captain and his faithful crew.
The Post-Meridian Radio Players' live shows feature local actors, a team of artists making sound effects with everyday (and not-so-everyday) objects, atmospheric digital audio effects, live musical accompaniment and a creepy, enigmatic host called The Librarian.
Tomes of Terror II will be performed Monday through Wednesday, October 29th through 31st, at 7:30 PM at the First Congregational Church of Somerville, MA (www.firstchurchsomerville.org), 89 College Avenue, just four blocks up from the Davis Square T Station. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors.
Further information about the show, ticket reservations, and the PMRP in general may be found on their website (www.pmrp.org).

- ROLLING TOWARDS YOU AT THIS VERY MOMENT ... AT AN INCREDIBLE SPEED ... IS A CHOCOLATE COVERED BALL OF DELICIOUS EXCITEMENT LIKE NONE OTHER YOU SHOULD HOPE TO EVER WRAP YOUR LIPS AROUND!
That's right, kids! Just when you thought you'd heard it all from Ryan Landry and The Gold Dust Orphans, they're BACK! Back with their biggest, brightest, splashiest, trashiest, most "fantasti-est" MUSICAL yet! Chock full of nuts, this creamy confection is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth, not to mention all those naughty cravings you've been suppressing lately. Cravings for adult comedy, groovy music, real pathos, titillating adventure and yes, SEX! (Well, there really isn't THAT much sex ... but there IS a leather bar upstairs! ENJOY!)
Based on the Roald Dahl classic, "CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY", "WILLIE WANKER AND THE HERSHEY HIGHWAY" also tells the tale of little Charlie Bucket ... but with some VERY interesting twists! ... We could spend our time (and yours) going over those twists but really, why spoil the fun?!
